Abingdon United 1 Thatcham Town

HELLENIC League leaders Town coasted to a comfortable double over lowly United to strenghten their hold on top spot.

They were 3-1 up at the break with Shane Cooper-Clark, Adam Morris and Mark Hughes scoring before Ryan Jackson pulled one back, but second half goals from Jon Bennett and Josh Baines completed the scoring.

Tadley Calleva’s Wessex League game at Christchurch was called off after a morning inspection.

Both teams are due to see Tuesday night action with Thatcham at Flackwell Heath in the quarter finals of the Berks and Bucks Senior Trophy while Tadley entertain league rivals AFC Stoneham at Barlows Park.
