Lights off and Tadley must go home

TADLEY CALLEVA’S Wednesday night Wessex League game at Christchurch survived the weather - only to be abandoned just before half-time due to floodlight failure!“Somebody doesn’t like me,” said manager Danny Dolan, whose side was on the receiving end of a midweek abandonment after the previous trip to Hythe and Dibden was also halted in the second half with the surface unplayable.

“The Christchurch pitch was perfect” said Dolan, “and the club could not be blamed at all.

“We were absolutely battering them as well,” he added, “but now we’ve got to go there again in midweek.”

Tadley have still to play 17 league matches and hope to clear two of those this week with the visit of New Milton Town to Barlows Park on Saturday, and then a Tuesday night trip to the Isle of Wight to face East Cowes Vics with an 8pm kick-off.
