HUNGERFORD TOWN have a home tie with Ryman League Leiston in the Third Quaifying Round of the Emirates.

The Premier Division side won through with a 4-1 win at South Park, while Hungerford scored their fortunate 1-0 win at Basingstoke.

The tie will be played at Bulpit Lane on Saturday, October 1.

Hungerford will be facing a comparatively unknown quantity when they take on the Suffolk side. An Easter Counties League side during Hungerford’s Ryman League days, they gained promotion to the competion in 2011, winning Division One North the following year and since settling in the top flight to finish eighth last season, and they currently head the table with an unbeaten record after seven games.

“It’s at home, so I’ll take that,” said Hungerford manager Bobby Wilkinson, who has 10 days in which to scout a side that is at Tombridge Angels on Tuesday night before home games with Met Police and AFC Sudbury on Saturday and September 27 respectively.
