Harry's game with a sparkling double
Hungerford march on in FA Youth Cup
HARRY Monger struck two superb goals as Hungerford’s youngsters scored a 4-2 home win over Marlow on Wednesday night to reach the Third Qualifying Round of the FA Youth Cup.
It was Monger who gave Hungerford an early lead when Jake Allan broke to whip in a cross that Monger met on the volley to send the ball flying into the roof of the net.
Marlow were caught on the counter-attack for the seocnd when Harry Way fed Monger who hit an unstoppable shot from 20 yards into the top corner.
The visitors pulled one back and Hungerford survived another scare before half-time when Josh Scurr rushed from his area to meet a through ball but brought down the forward and was lucky to receive only a yellow card.
But Marlow did pull level from the penalty spot following a handball before the outstanding Alex Fragata restored Hungerford’s lead when Shemar Pettet’s long throw fell to Fragata to control well and drive home from 12 yards.
Bailey got onto the scoresheet when he latched onto a loose ball on the edge of the area and his shot found nestled into the corner to secure Hungerford’s spot, one game shy of the First Round Proper.
