St Bart's sixth-formers mark year to remember
Among the recipients at the ceremony, held on December 20, were Natalie Chappell, Luke Sawyer and Alice Chamberlain who received advanced level prizes in business studies, French and psychology respectively, with the awards presented by former pupil of St Bartholomew’s School, past President of the Old Newburians’ Association, Prof Robert Cripps.
Several pupils also received commendation for exceptional academic performance, including Christopher Evans, who was acknowledged for outstanding academic achievement at advanced level, as well as Jennifer Jones and Amy Scarrett for their achievements in Drama.
St Bartolomew’s headteacher, Christina Haddrell praised numerous pupils for their contributions to the school, extending particular thanks to head boy, Gavin Williams and head girl, Annie Miller for their “superb input” during school events.
She concluded: “I should like to thank all students, staff, parents and governors for making 2011-2012 a year to remember and Professor Bob Cripps for making this awards evening an occasion not to be forgotten.
“Congratulations on your success at St Bart’s and I wish you all every happiness and success for the future.
Head of sixth-form, Adam Robbins, added: “We always enjoy this opportunity to congratulate our former students on their achievements.”
