Staff and customers at Florco Thatcham get on their bikes for community cycling club Newbury Velo
Staff and customers at a Thatcham carpet business have been raising money for community cycling club Newbury Velo.
Florco Thatcham, on Aylesford Way, held a fundraising spinathon last week (March 19).
Staff members and customers took shifts on the bike throughout the day.
And they completed a distance of more than 180 miles in the process.
In addition to sponsorship, a cake sale and raffle, the collective efforts raised more than £1,100 for the club.
Event organiser Rebecca Henri said that as a company is always looking for local charities and clubs to support.
And following on from very successful food drives over the winter, the business was thrilled to be able to do something a bit different and offer support to Newbury Velo, having seen first-hand the work it does in the community.
President of Newbury Velo Kevin Hurley said: “The club would like to extend a massive thank you to Florco and their brilliant efforts with their indoor riding marathon.
“The money raised will go towards the clubs tandem project with Berkshire Vision and their coaching programmes for both adults and children.”
