Staff robbed at gunpoint in Burghfield Common Tesco yesterday (Monday)

The offender is said to have entered the store, on Reading Road, at around 7.30pm with what witnesses believed to be a handgun, before demanding money from members of staff.
He is said to have put the money into a plastic bag before leaving.
A member of the public tried to detain the offender outside the store, but the suspect managed to flee the scene on foot.
The money and handgun were later recovered at the scene by police.
This is the second incident of this kind in recent weeks. On February 19, the Nisa and Post Office store in Recreation Road were also robbed at gunpoint.
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police, James Williams, said the incidents were believed to be linked.
So far, no arrests have been made for either incident.
Investigating officer, Det Con Daniel Bowles, of Force CID at Newbury, said: “I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident, or has any information about the offence to contact the police immediately.
“I would like to reassure the community that police are undertaking a thorough investigation in order to bring those responsible to justice.
“I would commend the bravery shown by the member of the public who tried to detain the suspect.
“However, Thames Valley Police would not advise members of the public to put themselves in danger by approaching offenders.”

Anyone with information can contact police using the 24-hour non-emergency number 101.
If you don't want to speak directly to the police you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
