Walk for Wards community fundraising event for the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust

It will start and finish at The Black Barn, Rushall Farm, Bradfield.

Whether you’re a keen hiker, a casual stroller, or simply there for the atmosphere, everyone is welcome – including four-legged friends.

This year there is a 5km and 10km route that takes walkers through natural woodland.

There will be a special scavenger hunt for children with the event’s new mascot, Frankie the fundraising fox.

If you fancy a day out in the countryside, with fresh air, family fun and fundraising, then the charity encourages you to join in.

All funds raised will go directly towards improving patient care and facilities at the Royal Berkshire Hospital.

Registration will open on the day from 9.30am and the walk will start at 10.30am.

Entry to join the walk is open now at http://www.royalberkscharity.co.uk/walkforwards or you can go to support in the event village.

“We’re so excited to bring Walk for Wards back for another year,” said Martin Butler, community and events fundraising manager at Royal Berks Charity.

“We want the event to be bigger and better than ever, it’s a fantastic opportunity for the community to come together, enjoy a great day out, and raise funds for a cause close to home.”

Royal Berks Charity is also calling for local stall holders to join the event village, and is particularly keen to find someone who can run a barbecue on the day.
