Stockcross is in bloom





Five magnificent gardens will be open to the public to help celebrate the 85th anniversary of the National Garden Scheme, between 1pm and 6pm.
There will also be a craft fair, homemade teas, a plant stall among more than 20 stalls selling various crafts - all created by local people.
The National Garden Scheme (NGS) has been raising funds for nursing and caring charities for 85 years.
The NGS donated £2.6million last year and hasdonated a total of £22million over the last decade to charities including Macmillan, Marie Curie, Help the Hospices and Cross Roads Care.
There will also be a donation made to the West Berkshire Hospital League of Friends and St. John's church, Stockcross.
St John's church will also be open with a flower display and the homemade teas will be served in the Sutton Hall.
The names of the gardens are: Stockcross House; Springfield Cottage; Highfields; Pump Cottage and Rookwood Farmhouse.
Family admission is £5, admission for children is free and there is plenty of parking.
