Store to hold events to replace stolen charity donations
Wash Common shop raising money for Guide Dogs
BUDGENS in Wash Common is holding a charity fundraiser to replace money stolen by thieves.
The Guide Dogs collection box, thought to contain £300, was stolen from the shop in October.
The thieves have not been caught.
The store, which said it was important to replace the money, have organised a fundraiser in association with the Guide Dogs charity to that effect.
Local schoolchildren will pack bags and collect customer donations between 10am and 2pm on Tuesday, December 22, and Wednesday, December 23.
Guide Dogs users, as well as volunteers who are training future Guide Dogs, will be visiting the store to promote the charity’s work.
Store owner Mike Estela said: “This promises to be a fun and fulfilling day and will help to raise some much-needed funds for this great charity in the run-up to Christmas.
