Stormfront in Newbury raided by thieves

The duty manager at the Stormfront at Northbrook Street received an automatic call at around 5am after thieves used two large concrete stones to smash the left-hand door of the shop.
An automatic smoke system was then triggered causing the thieves to flee with only a handful of the devices.
Assistant manager Jerrell Chaney who received the call and was at the store by 5.25am said: “It’s a bit overwhelming. I can’t believe the lengths people go to just to get a few gadgets.”
Three Mac Book Pros and one I-pad air was stolen by the offenders and Mr Chaney noted that the thieves would be unable to use the devices because they had already been set to demonstration mode.
Police who investigated the scene this morning believe that the paving slabs used to smash the door were removed from a street behind nearby Bayer PLC.
Mr Chaney said the store may re-open at 4pm today (Monday) and will be trading as normal from tomorrow.
