Strikes threaten to “significantly reduce” train services on Sunday and Monday, warns GWR
Industrial action by Aslef union members will significantly impact train services this weekend, warns Great Western Railway (GWR).
On Sunday and Monday, many parts of GWR’s network will have no train services running — and bus replacement services will not be provided.
A reduced timetable will be in place where trains are able to operate.
Customers travelling during this period are advised to check before they travel or to travel on alternative days, said GWR.
Other train operators will be affected by strike action, meaning onward travel could also be affected.
Limited disruption continues this week and could see some short-notice alterations and cancellations.
Customers travelling up until this Saturday are encouraged to check both outward and return journeys before travelling.
On Tuesday, February 6 there will be changes to the first services of the day, including some planned cancellations. Please check before you travel.
Customers who have bought tickets but cannot travel can claim a full refund or amend their ticket.
Customers may also be entitled to compensation if they are delayed by 15 minutes or more.
Tickets for strike days will be valid for travel on alternative days on GWR services to help customers.
Tickets from Tuesday, January 30 until Monday, February 5 can be used to travel from Monday, January 29 up to and including Wednesday, February 7.
