Student pops up arts hub in Lower Basildon
Christine Kerr, with the help of her family, cleared out the garage at her Reading Road home and transformed it into pop-up art gallery Wallflowers, complete with cafe, to display her work and boost her confidence ahead of her final year at Oxford Brookes University.
She is also showcasing the work of other local artists.
In addition to the art, guests can also indulge in a range of tea and coffee, homemade cakes and biscuits and light lunches, including greek salad and quiche.
Miss Kerr said she was pleased with the response of the local community: “We’ve had a lot of positive feedback.
“People come in and say it’s lovely and how different and quaint it is.
“Lots of locals have come in for tea and cake and we get quite a lot of passing trade as well.”
Wallflowers is open Wednesdays to Sundays, from 10am until 5pm, with free entry.
It will close at the end of August.
