Kingsclere Cancer Research Ball returns in 2024 to Oakley Hall Hotel on September 6

A wildly successful charity fundraiser is returning for a second edition after £40,000 was raised two years ago.

Four friends from Kingsclere, two of which are cancer survivors, came together to form the Kingsclere Cancer Research Fundraiser (KCRF) group in 2021.

Their first event, which grew from a party to thank those who had supported them throughout their cancer treatment to a full-blown charity gala ball, took place at Sandford Springs Hotel and Golf Club in September 2022 and raised £40,222.35 for Cancer Research UK.

After the event, KCRF group member Mandy Keable said: “Initially when the idea came to light we thought we could raise a few thousand pounds but as things grew, we saw the fundraising potential and we secretly hoped we might hit £30,000.

“To smash that and raise £40,000 was just incredible and we’re so grateful for the support we’ve received.”

The Kingsclere Cancer Research Ball is set to return in 2024.

This year, it is taking place at Oakley Hall Hotel on Friday, September 6.

Those wanting to attend the event can buy tickets now for £85 each. Attendees can also organise table tickets of eight, 10 or 12.

Those wishing to support the fundraiser in other ways can sponsor the ball, donate a prize to the silent auction, make a monetary donation or just spread the word that the Kingsclere Cancer Research Ball is returning later this year.
