Sulhamstead manor house hosts spring open gardens charity fundraiser





The family friendly garden and grounds includes a fun croquet lawn and large terraced area, with pond, fountain and knot garden.
The house - which will not be open - dates from the early 17th century and is grade two listed, with a large ancient orchard, paddocks, parkland and an avenue of oak trees dating from the 18th century.
In aid of the Red Cross, with home made cakes and teas and plants for sale.
From 2pm to 5pm at The Old Manor, White House Green, Sulhamstead RG7 4EA, by kind permission of Mr and Mrs Sanders Rose.
Directions - from Theale Station: Go over railway bridge, by river and canal bridges into Hanger Lane. At the roundabout turn right into Jaques Lane then onto the cross roads into Folly Lane. Entrance £3.50, children under 16 free.
