Summer fun at Parkway




Street party first of three free events at Newbury shopping centre

NEWBURY’S Parkway was alive with summer vibes on Saturday as the shopping centre gave its annual Summer Street Party.

Shoppers were treated to live entertainment on The Debenhams Main Stage, including acts from the Covent Garden performers, Welford & Wickham Primary School Choir, singer songwriter Aaron Norton and Woofability, Parkway’s chosen charity for the day.

Other shoppers sipped fruit punch and enjoyed shows inside The John Lewis garden, while some were treated to bowls of strawberries and cream courtesy of Marks & Spencer.

There were also a variety of special event discounts inside nearly all of the stores.

Parkway’s centre director David Pickett said: “It was a fabulous day and an excellent start to the summer period at Parkway.

“The atmosphere in the centre was fantastic and it was great to see so many shoppers and families enjoying themselves, we look forward to welcoming them all back very soon.”

Parkway Shopping centre will host two more free events, with this Saturday and , on Saturday, July 18.
