Summer fun day to draw in animal lovers in Great Shefford this Saturday
The annual summer fun day and dog show takes place between 11am and 2pm and aims to provide fun for all the family.
Events include stalls, raffle, drawing competitions, skittles and other games, barbecue and refreshments and, of course, the dog show which will be judged at mid day.
There are 14 classes including pedigree, sporting, junior handlers and best rescue dog as well as light hearted categories such as waggiest tail and fastest biscuit eater.
Entry costs £1 per adult but admission for children and dogs is free.
Meanwhile NAWT is launching a campaign to raise awareness of the importance of pet care planning in the event of an emergency situation.
New research conducted by the NAWT shows less than a quarter of West Berkshire pet owners have care plans in place should they suddenly or unexpectedly be called away from home.
Consequently the charity has launched its campaign to help pet owners make care plans for unexpected situations.
The Tails of the Unexpected campaign (www.nawt.org.uk/tailsoftheunexpected) features an online guide to take owners through the planning process.
It also includes a set of pet lifestyle and care forms for dogs, cats and small furry pets for owners to complete and keep safe with other important documents like vaccination records and insurance details.
Manager at Trindledown Farm, Alison Pearce, said: “Thinking about care for their pet in times of emergency is something many pet owners only consider in passing. Our new campaign aims to help people take the process one step further.
“People want peace of mind knowing that their pet is in safe hands and that their routine is disrupted as little as possible while their owner is unexpectedly absent. This is what our information pack will help with.”
