Sun breaks through clouds for Lambourn Carnival

Village turns out in force for parade

AFTER a day of showers, the sun smiled on Lambourn for the big carnival parade on Sunday.

Families lined the streets and some enjoyed picnics in their front gardens as the parade, led by the Reading Scottish Pipe Band, made its way from the judging field at Lambourn Sports Club field in Bockhampton Road.

One of the highlights for many was a chance to see Grand National and Hennessy Gold Cup winner, Many Clouds and festival organiser, Liz Cox, said: "We're very grateful to Oliver Sherwood for parading one of the most famous racehorses in the world for the village to see."
