Sun shines on the Young Farmers

The event saw thousands of people visit Amners Farm, Burghfield, to see birds of prey, ferret racing, sheep shearing displays and vintage machinery, along with 40 craft and food marquees.
Berkshire Country Fayre chairwoman Georgina Perry said: “We had an amazing day, the sun shone and the public poured through the gate.”
As well as the food stalls, visitors were kept refreshed with local beer and a hog roast, which proved so popular that it sold out.
There were also displays from Young Farmers, and proceeds will go towards Berkshire Young Farmers, a charity that encourages and develops opportunities for young people to have fun and improve their personal skills.
Last year’s event raised £12,000 and organisers are hoping to match this figure.
