Sunday soirée with Liverpool Poet

Inspired by posters and handwritten manuscripts on the walls of his study, poet Brian Patten has created The Ghosts On The Wall, which he will perform at The Watermill, Bagnor, on Sunday (7pm). One of the trio of 1960s Liverpool Poets, along with Roger McGough and Adrian Henri, Brian made poetry accessible to all and created a renewed interest in poetry as a performance art as well as something to be read from the page. Encouraged by Philip Larkin early in his career, Brian has published a number of significant collections, including Armada and The Collected Love Poems. He has also written a wide range of poetry books for children, Gargling With Jelly and Juggling With Gerbils among them. Brian will read a mixture of his own poems and those of the great writers who have influenced him. Visit www.brianpatten.co.uk For booking information, log on to www.watermill.org.uk
