Police investigate possible American XL Bully attack in Turnpike Road, Newbury




Police are seeking information about a dog attack in Newbury.

A man was walking his golden retriever in Turnpike Road, Newbury on September 19 when another dog, believed to be an American XL Bully, attacked his dog.

The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning and was reported to police the following day.

A Thames Valley Police spokesperson said: “We received a report of dog attacking another dog in Turnpike Road, Newbury at around 4.40pm on September 20.

“The attack was sometime between 6.40am and 6.50am.”

The Government called to ban the breed under the Dangerous Dogs Act on September 15 — just four days before this latest attack in Newbury took place.

Police urge anyone with any information to call 101 or make an online report, quoting reference 1457 of September 20.
