Aldermaston woman crashes car into Tadley opticians, seriously injuring a Thatcham man




The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary responded to a report of a collision in Tadley on Thursday (August 24) at 9am.

Police have now confirmed that a suspected drink driver has been released under investigation after crashing a grey Vauxhall Corsa into a shopfront on Franklin Avenue.

The incident left one Thatcham man with a serious leg injury.

A police spokesperson commented: “A pedestrian, a man in his 20s from Thatcham, suffered a serious leg injury.

“The driver, a woman in her 50s from Aldermaston, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

“She has been released under investigation while enquiries are ongoing.”
