Suspicious activity leads to arrest




Man detained on suspicion of carrying offensive weapon as police investigate suspected drugs incident

POLICE responding to reports of suspicious activity near Pangbourne Meadow have arrested a man for carrying an offensive weapon.

The 21-year-old from Lower Basildon was detained during the incident on Wednesday. He was released on bail until May 20, when he will have to report back to Newbury police station to see if he faces charges.

Pangbourne neighbourhood police team officer, Insp Andy Ward, said: “There are increased patrols in the area near Pangbourne Meadow over the Easter holidays to tackle issues of anti-social behaviour.”
