Tadley band with 'High Hopes' of big time
High Hopes travelled across Canada on a 19-date tour, played in seven different European countries and reached a national audience as their recent single, Revelation, featured for three weeks running on Kerrang! Radio.
Now, Tadley trio – singer Nick Brooks, 23; guitarist Nathan Pryor, 21, and drummer Daryl Pryor, 26 – along with guitarist Krishan Pujara, 22, from Basingstoke, and 26-year-old bassist Shaun Flanagan, from Bracknell, are at present busy recording their second album, which is due for release at the end of January, on Italian label This is Core.
The melodic hardcore band have built up a loyal following, and they are hoping to step up to the next level this year.
The band formed in 2012 and released one EP before Nick Brooks took over as lead singer nine months later.
He said: “The video for Revelation was released on the Kerrang! website and the feedback has been really good, and now we just want to get the rest of the album done.
“Things are falling into a place a bit and everything is going well.
“It is all coming together after the Canada tour. We are recording the new album in Studio 6 in Swindon with Stu McKay and our manager James Ilsley and once it is out then we can push on.”
High Hopes were invited to tour Canada with Slumlord in September, starting in Toronto and playing every major city in between before finishing in Vancouver 25 days later.
That, coupled with tours to Italy, Belgium, France, Germany, Liechtenstein and Austria, as well as dates across the UK, meant they have been kept busy all year.
The band tour Europe in an old police riot van and Nick Brooks said: “We would all like to tour more often, but we all have jobs and other commitments.
“Taking it to the next level is a pipe dream, but at the moment it is becoming a bit more of a reality and it is nice to see all our hard work paying off.”
