Tadley boyband rock Wembley Arena

Heartfelt messages to fans in home town

A TADLEY boyband recently sold out a concert close to home – after rocking Wembley Arena.

And five-member band Concept also sent heartfelt messages to fans in their home town, where they have performed at charity gigs over the last two years.

Concept – who shot to fame after appearing in The X Factor in 2014 when they made it to the judges’ houses stage – is made up of Ben Selley, Matt Goodenough, Scott Dicks and Karim Newton, from Tadley, and Nathan Gittens, from Basingstoke.

Last week the band sold out Central Studio – the venue attached to Queen Mary’s College, Basingstoke – where Concept first formed nearly five years ago, playing to a crowd of 190.

This was after twice appearing at Wembley Arena, alongside Aston Merrygold, a former member of popular boyband, JLS, singer/ songwriter Nathan Sykes who used to be in The Wanted, and singer songwriter, Ella Henderson – a 2012 X Factor finalist.

Despite their rise to fame, the boys, who are currently recording and writing music, have stayed fiercely loyal to their Tadley roots and sent the following messages to fans in the town: “We love all the local support.

“We can’t thank everyone enough for supporting us, it means so much to us to know our home town is behind us.

“Our family, friends and fans are all absolutely incredible – they push us forward.

“It’s been a fantastic journey and we can’t wait to achieve more together.”

Individual band members also sent messages to Tadley fans.

Karim Newton said: “Tadley is home. We’ll never forget or ever let go, no matter how far we travel, we always love coming back – it's where it all started for us.”

Scott Dicks added: “Most of us have spent a huge chunk of our lives growing up here and playing a lot of football with Tadley Calleva.

“Tadley has a very special place in our hearts.”

And Matt Goodenough said: “We have so many incredible memories in Tadley, we love this place.

“Lovely to know we have such solid support in our home town.”

In May last year, Concept returned to Tadley to front the Tadley Tea Party – a 12-hour music marathon in aid of Tadley Calleva FC’s youth side, at Barlows Park, in Silchester Road – the football club’s home ground.

In May 2014, Concept broke off from their European tour to headline the Party on the Pitch at Barlows Park, a fundraising concert after The Robert Sebbage Memorial football match.
