According to Hampshire Constabulary, on Friday, May 17, police received reports of a fire being set near goalposts in a park in Southdown Road.
There was another incident in the early hours of Saturday (May 18) in an alleyway off Farringdon Way / Monkswood Crescent, where a hedgerow was set on fire.
There was a further incident at about 8.15am on Monday, May 21, in Heathland, where an item of clothing was set alight and stuffed into a tree.
PCSO Pete Coe said: “Fortunately all of these fires were discovered and put out very quickly before they spread to any nearby properties. However, these incidents could have been much more serious.
“I would like to speak to anyone who knows anything about these incidents or who has seen people acting suspiciously.”
