Tadley pub the Fox & Hounds throwing Pride party this weekend
A Tadley pub is celebrating 50 years of LGBTQ+ progress with a pride party on the 50th anniversary of the UK’s first Pride march in London.
Visitors to the Fox & Hounds tomorrow (Saturday, July 30) will be entertained by drag queens, singers and DJs, with street food and drinks also being on offer.
The event is taking place in the pub’s newly renovated garden area between noon and midnight.
Assistant manager at the Fox & Hounds Kim Haysom-Gamblin said: “We’re so excited to be hosting our annual pride celebration this weekend.
“It’s an incredibly inclusive event, open to people of all ages and identities and will be filled with so many fantastic activities.
“We firmly believe that pubs should play a vital role in supporting the local LGBTQ+ community, and this weekend’s event is a perfect example of how our amazing customers come together to mark 50 years of LGBTQ+ progress.”
On the day there will be musical performances from drag queens Sophia Gardens, Lil' Miss Truffles and headliner Dr Bev.
There will be craft stalls selling Pride merchandise, a 360-degree selfie zone and glitter tattoos, while food offerings will include gourmet burgers and a Caribbean food truck, as well as candy floss and popcorn.
Greene King is donating 10p for every bottle sold of Progress Pale Ale to the Switchboard LGBT+ charity.
As well as fundraising for Switchboard, the Fox & Hounds team are also hosting a raffle during the event, with all proceeds going towards the installation of a new defibrillator on site.
