Top author events thanks to Hungerford’s indie bookshop




Nicola Chester, Alice Winn, John Lewis-Stempel, AJ Pearce – just some of the authors coming to talk in the area over the coming months thanks to Hungerford Bookshop.

Inkpen nature writer Nicola Chester – author of award-winning On Gallows Down – is the guest at the next author supper at The Retreat, Elcot Park, on May 18. She will talk about her memoir set in the local landscape.

The following day, author of the Sunday Times Top 5 bestseller In Memoriam, Alice Winn, will be in conversation with AJ West about her debut novel, an epic tale of the devastating tragedies of war and a forbidden romance. The event takes place at Hungerford Town Hall.

Farmer and ‘Britain’s finest living nature writer’ according to The Times, John Lewis-Stempel will be telling us about living the good life in France, at Croft Hall on June 14. The Fhungi Club will be providing canapes.

And on June 24, an afternoon tea at Blandy’s at Inglewood, Kintbury, AJ Pearce, author of Dear Mrs Bird and Yours Chearfully, will talk about her latest uplifting novel Mrs Porter Calling with tea, sandwiches and cake.
