NEU Teacher strikes force many West Berkshire and North Hampshire schools to partially close
A number of West Berkshire and North Hampshire schools will close tomorrow (Wednesday) due to nationwide teacher strikes.
Teachers from the National Education Union (NEU) are striking on March 15 and 16 in a dispute over pay and this weeks industrial action will be the latest in a series of recent walk-outs.
Many secondary schools will partially open over the next two days.
These include Newbury and Thatcham schools such as Kennet, Park House, St Bart's and Trinity, as well as other schools in the district such as John O'Gaunt, Denefield, Little Heath, The Downs, The Willink and Theale Green.
West Berkshire primary schools that will closed over the next two days are Calcot and John Rankin, with Beedon and Hermitage confirming they will be closed tomorrow.
Primary schools that are partially open include Bradfield, Curridge, Downsway, Falkland, Francis Baily, Hungerford, Inkpen, Kintbury, Long Lane, Parsons Down, Shaw-cum-Donnington, Spurcroft, St Finian's, St Joseph's, St Nicolas, Stockcross, Streatley, Thatcham Park, Winchcombe and Westwood Farm.
