Team Jackie is on a run after raising more than £90k

David Orme, aged 47, and his daughters Sophie, aged 14, and Jess, aged 11, are raising money for the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund, in memory of their mother and wife, Jackie, who died of the illness last July, aged 46.
Initially they enlisted about 20 people to take part in the half marathon to raise further funds but numbers grew to about 300 of people wanting to take part including teachers, parents, the headteacher and pupils of St Gabriel’s School, Newbury, where the girls attend, as well as friends, family, and former colleagues.
Two hundred took part in the half maratjon and 100 in the associated fun run - they made up the the largest single team in the half-marathon
Mr Orme, who completed the run himself in one hour and 44 minutes, said that all bar one runner finished the race adding that that in itself was an amazing feat as many of the runners had never even managed five miles previously.
He said: "Jackie was one of those people who inspired other people when she was alive and it was her inspiration that got people around the course.
"Everybody was so proud to be part of a special day.
"It was a very special day in terms of the number of people and it was the way Jackie would have liked it - it was a complete family event.
"It was fantastic."
The team is aiming to raise £100,000 which would pay for a three year research post in Pancreatic cancer research.
Mr Orme added: "That would be a phenomenal amount."
