Ramsbury Primary School pupils take part in Flight Centre Schools Triathlon at Marlborough College for charity
Teams from Ramsbury Primary School have excelled at a recent triathlon competition.
A total of 64 Ramsbury children took part in the Flight Centre Schools Triathlon on Sunday at Marlborough College.
Assistant headteacher at the school, Sophie Pollock, said: “It was a fantastic performance from the children of Ramsbury Primary School who showed incredible sportsmanship throughout the day.
"Everybody cheered everybody and I was very proud to be part of ‘Team Ramsbury’.
"Well done everybody who entered, raised money and represented their school so admirably!"
In teams of four, the year 3/4 children started with a 50m relay swim, while the year 5/6 teams took on a 100m swim each.
Cheered all the way by hundreds of excited parents, the budding athletes then took part in the 1,000m cycling labyrinth on grass, before all finishing with a 750m run.
The teams crossed the finish line together to rapturous applause.
In the year 3/4 competition the "awesome" Ramsbury Strikers team finished an amazing sixth out of 94 teams, while in the year 5/6 event, the "incredible" Ramsbury Jedis finished a staggering fifth out of 127 teams.
The children were all fundraising for Restless Development, a global development charity powered by young people, and for Ramsbury School’s charity this year, UK to Ukraine – a local charity based in Axford, supporting Ukrainian refugees in Ukraine and Poland.
