Teenage boy is robbed on footpath in Purley
The offence took place on the footpath between the Oxford Road and Skerritt Way, Purley, at about 8.30pm on Monday evening (May 7).
The victim, a 17-year-old boy, was walking along the footpath when he was grabbed from behind and had his wallet containing money taken from his pocket.
The offender is described as 6ft 2ins tall, with broad shoulders and muscular arms.
He was wearing a black hooded top with the hood up and it seemed as though the hood stretched, like he had a long face.
He was also wearing blue jeans with rips around the heels, Nike trainers and black and fluorescent yellow striped gloves.
Detective Constable Jason Watkins of the priority crime team based in Newbury, said: “I would like to hear from anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area, or if they noticed a man fitting the description given.”
Anyone with information should call the Thames Valley Police 24-hour non-emergency number 101 and ask to speak to Detective Constable Watkins.
