Teenage boy sexually assaulted in Newbury public toilets




Police hunting for offender after 16-year-old touched inappropriately

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 16-year-old boy was sexually assaulted by an older man in a Newbury public toilet.

At around 12.40pm on Saturday, the victim, went into the public toilets in Pembroke Road behind WH Smith.

While in the toilets, the victim was touched inappropriately by a man.

The offender is white, aged between 50 and 60 years old, slim build, with short grey hair and stubble. He was wearing a blue fleece jacket and grey suit trousers.

Investigating officer, Det Con Angela Parsons from Local CID at Newbury police station, said: “The victim is being supported by specially trained officers and we are conducting a full and thorough investigation.

"There are officers in the area today making enquiries, and I would encourage anyone with any concerns, or anyone who has any information about the incident, to speak to them.

“I would appeal to the public to help our investigation. If you have any information about the offence or recognise the description of the offender then please contact police immediately.”
