Teenage girl attacks man on bus

Police appeal for witnesses after unprovoked assault

POLICE have appealed for help in tracing a teenage girl who attacked a man on a bus.

The unprovoked assault happened soon after 1am on Tuesday, November 15.

The victim, a 25-year-old from Thatcham, was travelling on a rail replacement bus service between Reading and Newbury.

The bus had stopped at Thatcham railway station when the man was kicked in the back by a teenage girl. He was shocked but suffered no injuries.

Pc Kelly Neal, from Newbury police station, said: “There was a rowdy group on the bus who had been shouting and swearing during the journey. We're keen to speak to other passengers who were on the bus as they may have information that could help our investigation into this assault.”

The alleged offender is aged between 15 and 17-years-old, about 5ft tall, with long blonde hair and a young-looking face. She spoke with a high-pitched voice and was wearing white shoes.

Anyone with any information about this incident should contact case investigator Nicola Rodger via the 24-hour Police Enquiry Centre on 101.

Alternatively the Crimestoppers charity can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
