Teenage girl sexually assaulted by the A339




Police are appealing for a specific witness to come forward in relation to a sexual assault investigation in Newbury.

A teenage girl was approached from behind by a man on the footpath next to the A339, from Greenham to Newbury town centre at around noon on Friday, July, 31.

A second man on a black bicycle intervened and ensured the victim was safe.

Police say the girl was not physically injured in the incident.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Tyler Miller, based at Newbury police station, said: “This was a frightening ordeal for the victim, and could have been much worse if an unknown man hadn’t intervened.

“I am trying to locate this witness, as I believe he may have information that can assist in my investigation.
