Pangbourne teen Jacob Hiles caught with knife in public
A TEENAGER caught with a knife in public has been sentenced.
Jacob Hiles appeared in the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, November 14.
The 18-year-old, of Bourne Road, Pangbourne, admitted having a folding knife with him in Kings Road, Reading, without good reason or lawful authority on Saturday, October 14.
Mr Hiles, who represented himself at the hearing, was made subject to an 18-month community order.
Under its terms, he must complete a thinking skills course and complete 150 hours of unpaid community work.
No order for costs was made because of his lack of means to pay but Mr Hiles was required to pay a statutory victim services surcharge of £114.
