Teenager in life threatening condition after accident

A 13-YEAR-OLD boy is suffering from life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car in Purley yesterday (Monday).
The boy, who was on his pedal cycle at the time of the accident, collided with a Honda CRV at about 4pm yesterday.
The incident occurred at the junction of Oxford Road and Roebuck Rise in Purley on Thames.
A stretch of the Oxford Road between the roundabout with Overdown Road and the roundabout with Knowsley Road was closed and diversions were put in place, however the road has now reopened.
The teenager was airlifted to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford with severe head and abdominal injuries.
Thames Valley police have described his condition as life threatening.
