A teenager was threatened with a knife in a Tilehurst supermarket robbery yesterday morning

A teenager was threatened with a knife in a Tilehurst supermarket robbery yesterday morning (Thursday).

According to Thames Valley Police (TVP), at around 11.20am, a white man entered the Tesco Express in Knowsley Road.

He then threatened a 19-year-old employee with a knife, forcing her to hand over a quantity of cash.

Det Con Gareth Perry of Newbury CID said fortunately no-one was injured during the incident , but continued:

"It was a frightening ordeal for the staff in the store at the time."
