'Tell us once' - and cut red tape

The 'Tell us Once' project arose out of a recognition that people often have to provide the same information to different bodies and agencies when notifying them of a change of circumstances.
The new service aims to provide a joined-up ‘notification service’ provided through a single point of contact particularly when reporting a birth, death or a change of address.
‘Tell Us Once’ automatically generates actions for various services such as benefits, council tax or highways which deals with Blue Badge holders.
West Berkshire's executive councillor for strategy, performance and community safety, Anthony Stansfeld (Con, Kintbury) said: "The new system will make the process of notification much easier.
“Often, people are dealing with very stressful situations when they have to give out this information and the last thing they need is to have to give the same information over and over again. Tell us Once will also ensure that the information is given to all the relevant agencies and organisations simultaneously.
