Temperatures set to soar to 20 degrees Celsius from today (Friday)
While the Met Office is forecasting much of the weekend to be overcast, the weather is forecast to be consistently warm until Monday.
Today (Friday), temperatures are expected to remain above 15 degrees Celsius until 11pm - with a high of 20 degrees at 4pm - while a UV index warning of six, out of 11, to come into force at 1pm.
The UV index measures the strength of ultraviolet radiation from the sun.
Tomorrow (Saturday), as the town hosts its weekly market and launches Feel Good Fortnight at Newbury Library and throughout the centre, temperatures are expected to reach 20 degrees at 1pm, with light rain expected between 5pm and 9pm.
And on Sunday, with both Newbury and Thatcham having official ceremonies to welcome new mayors into their roles, the weather is expected to be dry with sunny intervals and reaching the same high temperatures.
Despite the cloud, the summer weather has brought with it a warning from health professionals that while it may not look sunny, it is still easy to get sunburnt, and so protective sun cream should be worn.
