Temporary traffic lights cause congestion on the A4 London Road outside Lidl in central Newbury

Utility repair and maintenance works are causing significant traffic build-up in central Newbury.

The work is taking place on the A4 London Road next to Lidl and traffic is being controlled through multi-way signals.

Congestion is backed up to Robin Hood Roundabout to the west and to Lower Way in Thatcham in the east.

The work, which is being carried out by Thames Water, is scheduled to be in place until the end of Monday (June 24).
