AA says temporary traffic lights ‘turned off’ on A339 causing delays between the Swan Roundabout and Greenham Business Park
Temporary traffic lights – that have caused long delays on the A339 – have now stopped working.
There has been queuing traffic between the Swan roundabout and Ashford Hill Road, in both directions, all day today (Wednesday).
The temporary lights were put in place earlier this week, so Openreach could carry out telecoms work at Ashford Hill.
Motorists have been complaining of long delays between the Swan roundabout and Greenham Business Park and earlier today Newbury & District buses reported “significant delays” on its 103, 103A and 103B services due to the congestion.
It said on X that commuters should allow extra time for their journeys during the morning rush hour.
Traffic is currently still moving very slowly on this stretch of road.
