Tesco petrol station re-opens after fuel leak

Several litres of fuel leaked from BMW

TESCO's petrol station in Newbury was temporarily closed this afternoon (Monday) after a fuel leak from a car on the forecourt.

One pump was called at 3.30pm from Newbury Fire Station, to the petrol station at Tesco Extra, in Pinchington Lane.

A BMW convertible parked at a pump on the forecourt had leaked around five litres of petrol.

The forecourt was evacuated and temporarily closed.

Firefighters made the area safe and stopped the leak.

The forecourt was re-opened after approximately an hour, as the firefighters departed the scene.
