Thames Valley PCC "most efficient" says report
THE office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Thames Valley spends less than any other such office in England and Wales, according to a new report published recently.
A report released by the Tax Payers Alliance on Thursday showed that per 1,000 members of the electorate, Thames Valley only spent £624 in 2013/14.
The figures also show that the annual budget in 2013/14 was £711,325 lower than in 2010/11.
Police and Crime Commissioner for Thames Valley Anthony Stansfeld said: “I am pleased that my office has saved the taxpayer nearly three quarters of a million pounds compared to the Police Authority office it replaced.
“I have a small, well-run and efficient office that does the job intended at a lower cost than any other office of the PCC.”
The role of the PCC is to ensure an effective and efficient police service for the area and to hold the chief constable to account on behalf of the electorate.
