Thatcham boy wins nationwide art competition

Three-year-old Oliver Bickerton’s greeting card was named the best of more than 1500 entries from across the UK in the minimecardco.com art competition.
Nicola Barkhouse, of Tigers Day Nursery where Oliver attends, said: "We are so proud to have won and our lovely prize of a Butterfly Garden will help us to grow butterflies in our classroom and then release them into our grounds and help them thrive. It will also help us study our beautiful wildlife that is right on our doorsteps.
"Creativity is so important for children and it helps them develop in so many ways. We aim to help our children to develop great life skills for use in later life.
"We really enjoyed doing our artworks which were made into wonderful greetings cards and whilst we thought they were good we never expected to get into the finals and actually win".
