Thatcham carollers ding dong merrily on a high

Around 20 people and children, including Father Christmas riding Amy the horse dressed up as a reindeer, assembled at The Swan before taking their tunes to the Burdwood Co-op and around the Kennet Heath estate.
Organiser Fiona Mirchandani said that her family and friends had made a tradition out of the event in recent years, with this latest gathering raising £125 for Cancer Research and CLIC Sargent, a charity that provides support to children with cancer, in the process.
“It was a lot of fun and there were lots of happy smiling faces,” she said, adding that the group leading a horse dressed up as a reindeer around the streets of Thatcham received a few funny looks from passers by.
