Thatcham club opens with swishing party

The monthly event Open Minds, held at The Old Bluecoat School, has been set up by Thatcham resident Paul Bullock, who said a need was identified for 16 to 24-year-olds to have somewhere inexpensive to meet their friends.
Mr Bullock said the clothes swap shop was popular with members.
He said: “A successful night was had by all. We opted to have Fairtrade goods and make Open Minds an advocate of the Fairtrade movement.
“The numbers of folks attending was slightly lower than anticipated, however, the weather may have deterred some. Those that made it along swapped clothes and took away a new wardrobe.
“The music and lighting went down well and the environment was warm and cosy, a real treat to kick back and relax that was different from the norm.”
