Thatcham company donates £300 to West Berkshire Mencap

Rivar Sand and Gravel launch new charity partnership

WEST Berkshire Mencap is set to receive a cash boost, thanks to a new partnership with landscaping materials firm Rivar Sand and Gravel.

The Thatcham-based firm has emblazoned the charity’s logo on its bags and has already donated £300 to the organisation.

More support is set to follow via a collection box at the firm’s base at Wyevale Garden Centre, plus regular fundraisers.

Director of Rivar Sand and Gravel, Jon Gage, said: “Recently, we decided to change our charity that we sponsor to a more local one as we continue our long-standing community support initiative.

“We’re absolutely delighted that West Berkshire Mencap is going to be our official charity partner as they do phenomenal work in providing support for people with learning disabilities plus their families.”

Chief executive at West Berkshire Mencap, Leila Ferguson, said: “We love the enthusiasm of the company and its staff and we’re very much looking forward to working with them.

“During tough financial times, the support of local businesses such as Rivar Sand and Gravel is invaluable.”
