Thatcham Discovery Centre refurbished and reopened
The Nature Discovery Centre in Thatcham has reopened today (Thursday).
The centre, which was closed for a refurbishment, was meant to re-open yesterday but refurbishment work took "slightly longer than planned".
The visitor centre, shop, café and toilets closed at the end of October.
Most of the details of the refurbishment were kept “under wraps” for a surprise but the centre recently shared an image of its new Hide in the Sky window being installed.
It has since shared images of the centre, after reopening this morning showing off its fresh new look and new range of products.
The new facility will enable school groups and other visitors to get a bird's eye view of the activities out on the wildlife lake.
The Berkshire, Buckinghamshire & Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust (BBOWT), which manages the site on behalf of West Berkshire Council, has promised a new menu at the café and new products for its shop.
There will also be a public event held at the centre on Saturday, starting at 10am.
It will have representatives from BBOWT talking to visitors and its new trailside ambassador team will be in attendance.
