Thatcham Festival of Arts and Leisure is underway
Today there were arts, crafts, cars and food with nature, walks and more art to come tomorrow
THE Thatcham mayor, Lee Dillon, kicked off the town's 11th annual Festival of Arts and Leisure this morning (Saturday).
During the day there was the first ever festival food fair, with stalls and demonstrations including Dawn Saunders from Thatcham company, Delicious Dial A Cake, who showed off the art of cake decorating to a packed parish hall.
There was also music, an arts and crafts fair, a classic car show, an allotment open day and an art exhibit.
Mr Dillon welcomed everyone to the festival and said: “Please support as many of the town organisations as you can.
“Continue to show your support and have an excellent week.”
The festival is now well underway and on offer tomorrow there will be an autumn bird walk at the Nature Discovery Centre, a seven mile walk from the Moorside Community Centre and a family exploration day at Bowdown Woods.
